Whilst on the way to dance class, aged 4, I told my Mum I was going to dance around the world when I grow up… At the age of twelve I attended my first professional audition for Elmhurst Ballet School, near London. This provided the opportunity to gain the best professional training in a variety of dance disciplines, including Classical Ballet, Contemporary, Tap, Modern, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Flamenco, Pas de Deux, Acting and Singing, as well as gaining a solid education. After spending 6 years at Elmhurst I went on to Laine Theatre Arts Musical Theatre College, near London a well recognised college for their expertise in Musical Theatre and Commercial Dance, I completed my dance teaching qualifications here. I started my travels when I performed in the Nutcracker Ballet age 15 in Osaka, Japan as a guest dancer. Later I went on to perform as “Sandy” in Grease; “Sally Bowles” in Cabaret; “Magenta” in The Rocky Horror Show, “Gypsy” in The Hunchback of Notre Dame; “Vampire” in Tanz der Vampire, to name a few. My next contract was a showgirl in Le Nouvelle Eve which led me to Cirque d’hiver, the famous family owned Bouglione circus in Paris. Following this I was selected for Jean Ann Ryan Productions, Florida, to perform on board The Saga Rose & the six star Silver Shadow Cruise Liners. While on the ships my personal highlights included performing My Fair Lady; 42nd Street; Fame; A Chorus Line; Hooray for Hollywood; Cirque show; Singing in the Rain and many more. Once back on land my career led me to Stuttgart, Germany with renowned choreographer Jack Dolle, where I performed at The Friedrichsbau Variete Theatre in the creative production of Revue des Elementes. I returned to Ireland in 2008 and promoted dance by teaching in local schools. During this time I got involved with Shawbrook School of Dancing, teaching and choreographing jazz dance culminating in great success for the students in the 2008 Irish National Dance Awards. Later to become the Hip Hop choreographer for “Life is a Beach”, Backstage Theatre, Longford. I also founded an international dance student and teacher exchange with Ayumi Maezawa of Atszuko Dance Studio, Japan, where we held a Coppelia workshop and performance in The Dock, Carrick on Shannon, Co Leitrim. In the same year I taught in Croatia and really enjoyed performing in “Unforgettable”, Circus Conelli in Zurich. I also spent time dancing in Madeira and once again in Zurich for “Generations”, Circus Conelli. On completion of extensive research into the role of dance in cultural exchange I graduated from Middlesex University,London with a BA(Hons) Dance and Performance in 2009. I continue with my continual professional development on a regular basis with both my teaching qualifications, first aid, child protection and injury prevention courses. Most recently I performed for Le Lido, Paris in 2010 and this was my final performance before completely moving home. A touch of the Lido marking the 100 year of the bluebell dancers toured to Mallorca and was screened on TV, this was a fabulous finale to my performing years. We were also lucky enough to catwalk the costumes of the Lido from over the years. In addition to the above I have Modelled for various hairshows, catwalked Bridalwear, posed for holiday brochures and featured on billboards in Canada and Paris. TV experiences include appearances in Holby City, The Vice, The Bill, The Office, Final Demand, Kinder Egg and a Yorkie advertisement. My passion for dance and performance has allowed me to see over 40 countries, experience many cultures and meet so many wonderful people, providing the inspiration for my teaching and choreographing.
